SUMMARY

Farallon Boats is seeking a motivated Fiberglass Technician to join our production team. This is a hands-on role involved in the fabrication, assembly, and finishing of fiberglass boat hulls and components used in offshore and commercial-grade vessels. Candidates with formal training in fiberglass or composites—such as trade or technical school graduates—are encouraged to apply.

 

ABOUT FARALLON BOATS

Farallon Boats designs and builds rugged, purpose-driven fiberglass boats for offshore fishing, commercial use, and demanding marine environments. All boats are built in-house with a strong emphasis on structural integrity, performance, and long-term durability.

 

COMPENSATION

  • Competitive hourly pay: $24.00–$30.00

  • Paid time off (PTO)

  • Paid holidays

Note: This position does not include health or dental benefits.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform fiberglass layup, lamination, tabbing, and structural bonding on hulls and boat components

  • Mix, measure, and apply resins, catalysts, and fiberglass materials

  • Grind, sand, fair, and finish fiberglass surfaces

  • Work with molds, tooling, and marine composite structures

  • Read and follow drawings, work orders, and build instructions

  • Inspect completed work for surface quality, structural integrity, and conformance to specifications

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area

  • Follow shop safety procedures and quality standards

  • Coordinate with other production departments as needed

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Graduation from a trade or technical school with fiberglass or composite training preferred

  • Entry-level to experienced technicians encouraged to apply

  • Marine, automotive, aerospace, or industrial composite exposure a plus

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Comfortable with repetitive motion and prolonged standing

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Standing, bending, kneeling, and working on boats for extended periods

  • Repetitive hand and arm movements

  • Lifting, pushing, or pulling materials up to 50 lbs

  • Working in a production shop environment
